Açaí bowls have become one of my favorite breakfast or even desserts! They have becoming increasing popular and shops are opening up everywhere. However they tend to be pricey, the good news is the are incredibly easy to make at home and just as delicious!As implied in the name Açaí bowls are made with Açaí berries. This can be found frozen at most grocery stores. However if you are unable to find them or looking for a more familiar flavor blueberries work just as well!
1/2 cup of frozen açaí or blueberries
1 frozen banana (I liked to freeze banana’s ahead of time in the freezer but you could also use an unfrozen banana and just decrease the amount of almond/ coconut milk to keep the consistency thick)
1 1/2 cups of almond or coconut milk
2 dates (optional for more added sweetness)
coconut flakesdried goji berries
cut of fruit of your choiceand anything else your heart desires!
- Put all the ingredients for the açaí bowl in a blender and blend until smooth. Should be a thick consistency, you can add more mild if needed.
- Pour the mixture into bowl and top with the toppings of your choice. You finish it off by drizzling some agave or honey if you would like!
